As your therapist, I will not:
- Try to fix you
- Give you advice
- Tell you what to do
- Pretend I know more about you than you do
- Assume what is best for you
- Have all the answers
- Make the hard stuff go away
I will:
- Remind you that you aren't broken
- Remember that only you know what is best for you.
I offer a free 20-minute consultation during which we will briefly discuss what brings you to therapy and what support you are looking for. If we agree that we would be a good fit for working together, we will then schedule our first counselling session.

Counselling for anxiety aims to help you overcome fear, stress, and anxiety. Counselling for depression aims to help you overcome feelings of sadness, hopelessness and despair. I provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behaviour, and develop strategies to manage your anxiety and/or depression.
Grief and bereavement counselling aims to assist you in coping with the loss of a loved one. I can also support you in processing various other forms of grief, such as losing a version of yourself after a hardship, health struggle or trauma, changes to your body due to ageing, health difficulties, chronic illness, or the loss of a pet. I provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your feelings of grief, gain insights into your behaviour, and develop strategies to manage your grief and move forward.
When working with neurodivergent individuals, I aim to create a safe and understanding space to address the unique challenges you may face. This may include difficulties with social interaction, sensory processing, communication, and emotional regulation often associated with conditions like autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia. I use evidence-based approaches that acknowledge and respect individual differences. These approaches may involve cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) adapted for neurodivergent needs, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to foster self-acceptance, or sensory-based interventions to manage sensory sensitivities. The goal is to empower you to develop coping mechanisms, build self-esteem, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and well-being.
Whilst I have outlined a few of the issues I can support you with, I work with a variety of issues that are not listed above. Other areas I can support you with include life changes and transitions, relationship issues, and personal development. If you are struggling with something not listed and are uncertain, please don’t hesitate to reach out by completing the contact form or email me at fortitudecounselling@outlook.com
